Queen Elizabeth in Rome: Pope Francesco’s gift to Royal Baby [Photo]

Yesterday Queen Elizabeth was in Rome, where she was received by the Pope in his study. The Queen was greeted by Pope Francesco for an informal hearing, out of the norm of officialdom which usually reserves the Heads of State in face-to-face in the Apostolic Palace.

The queen gave the Pontiff a basket of organic products drawn from the real properties. While Francis has also offered a gift to the ‘royal baby‘. The Pope has sent a small precious stone globe surmounted by a cross. At Elizabeth II, however, Francis gave an ancient parchment, which dates back to May 1679, with a message, “Urbi et Orbi” Cardinal Cesare Facchinetti.
